Regulations for traveling to Austria
When entering Austria, a 2G+ regulation applies. Visitors must either be vaccinated or recovered and additionally present a negative PCR test (not older than 72 hours) or a booster vaccination. Entry with 2G proof (vaccinated or recovered) is possible without a PCR test. However, registration(pre-travel clearance) is then required and home quarantine must be taken immediately after entry. As soon as a negative PCR test result is available, the quarantine is considered to be terminated. Non-immunized persons (neither vaccinated nor recovered) must register upon entry as part of the pre-travel clearance and enter a mandatory quarantine. This can be terminated no earlier than the fifth day by a negative PCR test.
Exceptions: For persons who have already received the 3rd vaccination dose ("booster vaccination") or the 2nd vaccination dose at Johnson & Johnson, the registration and PCR test obligation does not apply. Convalescents who have been vaccinated twice also do not need PCR testing. Children under 12 years of age do not require 2-G detection and PCR testing. School-age children are subject to the Ninja Passport. Pregnant women and persons who have a medically certified exemption from vaccination require a negative PCR test upon entry.
